Pezuegnat Mantel Clocks “P” to “Z”
Panthenon
The “Panthenon” was only featured in the 1904 Pequegnat catalogue supplement.
Some have said that it was simply a misprint and should of been “Pantheon”, however the oak case is slightly different that that model with the top of the clock having a horizontal molding extending across the top of the clock from one set of pillars to the other (see picture).
The clock dial is signed Berlin as well as the movement. There is no model label affixed. This clock measures 17 1/2 inches in width, 13 1/2 inches high and 6 1/2 inches deep. the 8 day time and strike movement gongs the hours and rings the bell on the half hour.
A seldom seen clock.
Pantheon
There is a great label marked Berlin, as is the movement. The case measures 17 1/2 inches wide, 13 inches high and just over 6 1/2 inches deep. The movement is 8 days time and strike with a gong for the hours and a bell for the half hours. The clock was featured in the 1913 and 1918 catalogues.
This great looking clock was no doubt a popular model and consequently production was probably higher than most other Pequegnat mantel clocks of its day. Due to that popularity this Pequegnat clock is one of the easier to find, although not the cheapest to buy.
Pantheon B
Paris
The “Paris” was only shown in the 1913 Pequegnat catalogue. It has an 8 Day Time and Strike movement that gongs on the hours and strikes the bell on the half. The case is identical to the “Picton” except for the inlay in the wood. The front picture doesn’t show the inlay virtually at all. The case measures 14 1/4 inches high, 10 3/4 inches wide and just over 6 inches deep. The clock has no label, however the dial and movement are both signed Berlin.
This clock is one of the more difficult models to find.
Peterboro – 1st Edition
The Peterboro was featured in Pequegnat’s 1913 catalogue. The dial and the movement are both signed Berlin Ontario. This 8 day time and strike clock would strike the gong on the hour and the bell on the half hour. The clock is 11 inches high, 13 inches wide and 6 inches deep in a weathered oak case.
This clock is considered to be more difficult to find.
Peterboro – 2nd Edition
The Peterboro model was displayed in the 1913 and 1918 Pequegnat catalogues. These clocks were 8 day, time and strike with a Cathedral gong. You could however upgrade to the tuned chiming rods with a double stike movement for an extra $1.00. Thats the model shown below. It has an oak case and a plain bronze sash. The dimensions are 11 inches high, 13 inches wide and 6 inches deep.
This model is considered harder to find.
Picton
The “Picton” was featured in the 1913 and 1918 Pequegnat Catalogues. It has an 8 Day movement time and strike with a gong for the hours and a bell for the half hours. The clock is 14 1/4 inches high, 10 1/4 inches wide and 6 inches deep. The clock is identical to the “Paris” with no inlay work.
This clock has a nice walnut finish and is a hard one to find.
Quebec
This mission style clock was featured in the 1904 and 1913 catalogues. This oak clock measures 20 inches in height and is 13 inches wide. The 8 day Time and Strike movement is fitted with a gong ti signal the hour and half hours.
This clock is fairly common, yet eagerly sought after by Pequegnat collectors.
Royal (SOLD)
This later model Pequegnat clock showed up in the 1928 catalogue. It measures 21 inches in width and is 9 3/4 inches tall. The 8 day movement is fitted with a gong which sounds on the hour and on the half hour.
This little “Napoleon Hat” clock is hard to find.
Sarnia
The “Sarnia” was featured in the 1913, 1918 and 1928 Pequegnat catalogues. The clock is 16 1/2 inches high, 12 1/2 inches wide and 7 1/4 inches deep. It has an 8 day time and strike movement on vertically suspended tuned rods. That being an optional ($1.00) upgrade from the more usual gong. The case is walnut with a nice domed glass in the bezel.
It’s a nice clock that’s still not too hard to find.
Sherbrooke
The “Sherbrooke” appeared in the 1918 and 1928 Pequegnat catalogues. It has an 8 Day time and Strike movement that gongs on the hour and half hour. The clock measures 11 inches high, 17 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches deep.
This mahogany clock is one of the more common of the Pequegnat clocks.
Simcoe (3 Versions) (ALL SOLD)
The “Simcoe” is an interesting clock. The case is virtually the same as the “Jewel” except with lion heads and feet. The case design is absolutely identical for both clocks except the Jewel case is about an inch wider. The “Galt” model is the same as the “Jewel” and “Simcoe” except it has feet and no lion heads.
The first example has a Berlin signed dial with 8 Day Time and Strike Movements. It gongs the hours as well as the half hour. The Bezel has beveled glass in it rather the the more usual “flat glass”. No label was on the clock.
The “Pie Crust” example has an 8 day movement with a gong for the hours and a cup bell for the half hours. The bezel has the early “Pie Crust” Bezel around the dial. It has a nice original label.
The “Walnut” example is unusual because of the ball feet. The 8 day movement has the usual gong for the hours and the cup bell for the half hours. Pequegnat clocks in walnut are extra difficult to find.
The model appeared in the 1904 catalogue supplement as well as the 1913, 1918 and 1928 catalogues. All three clocks measure 10 3/4 inches in height, 14 inches width and are 7 inches deep.
They are very difficult clocks to find.
Soo (2 Versions) (BOTH SOLD)
The two clocks below are both the “Soo” model. Both Clocks are identical in measurements, that is 10 inches high, 10 1/2 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches deep. The model was featured in Pequegnat’s 1913 catalogue as well as his 1918 catalogue. Both movements are signed Berlin as well as being eight day with a gong for the hours and a bell for the half. Both clocks also have Berlin signed signed dials.
The first “Soo” clock has a beautiful label, however the one one on the Straight Base clock is only partially there and naturally missing the model identification, however there is no doubt in my mind that it is also the “Soo” model. The “Soo” is also found with a Straight Sided Case with a Straight Base, and the clock below clock has the straight base as well as the flared out side of the original model. So typical of Pequegnat clocks, one model with slightly different trim!! (Just to keep us guessing I suppose.)
This clock, in all variations, is considered rare and harder to find.
St Thomas
This oak clock has an 8 day time and strike movement on a gong. It was featured only in the 1913 catalogue as was it’s almost twin brother the “Hamilton Tall”. The only difference was that the “St Thomas” had a mission dial while the “Hamilton Tall” had the dial pan. The “St Thomas” is 21 1/2 inches tall and 13 inches wide.
It’s a very difficult clock to find.
Stratford
The “Stratford” appeared in the 1904 supplement, 1913, 1918 and 1928 Pequegnat catalogues. Actually its a souped up “Colonial” with feet and lions head added or if you wish a souped up “London” with lions head added. One box design, three clocks — not bad! It has an 8 day movement with a gong on the hour and bell on the half. The model below is in oak with a nice label inside the back door. It measures 17 inches wide, 11 1/2 inches tall and 7 1/4 inches deep. The label, movement and dial are all signed Berlin.
They’re more common than most, however the black enameled “Stratford” is very difficult to find.

The “Victor” is a clock that was never catalogued. As you can see by the sales label the clock was sold on May 29th 1944,after the clocse of the factory in 1941.

The “Vogue” was not in any of the pre 1928 catalogues. Obviously a later model, both examples are 8 day Time and Strike. The example with the decal dial strikes the hours and half hours on tuned rods, while the one with the silvered dial has the more commen gong. These beautiful clocks both measures 21 inches in width, 9 1/2 inches in height and 5 1/2 inches in depth. The silvered dial is 5 1/2 inches in diameter

The clock has a Berlin signed dial and movement with original label firmly secured at the back. The 8 Day Time and Strike movement, gongs the hour as well as the half.
