Halifax – 1st Edition

This early mission faced dial was the main feature to distinguish the first edition “Halifax” from the silver dialed second one. The tuned rods replaced the traditional gong in 1918, so we can surmise that this particular clock was built sometime during the transition period between the two editions around 1918. (The First edition clocks were advertised in the Catalogue supplement in 1904 as well as in the 1913 catalogue as being fitted with a gong. The 1918 catalogue showed the silvered dial “Halifax” fitted with tunes rods.)

This clock is 80 inches high and 22 1/4 inches wide. It has a sunken Mission dial with a bevelled plate glass door. It has an 8 day movement with brass weights.

As with all Pequegnat Hall clocks it is hard to find.
