Shilawitsu - Early 1900's are photos of a very old Shilawitsu, not technically a kachina-being, but rather the Hopi Fire Deity. His Zuni counterpart, which looks identical, is Kokosori. This one measures 7 1/2 inches long and dates to around 1900. He is painted with mineral paints, has his original strings tied to the top of his head, no repairs, and is in good condition. He also has a few strands of the original horsehair that was tied to the top of his head. He doesn't seem to stand well on his own.
